The BEST solution for measuring industrial airflows
In industrial ventilation systems, controlling airflow is a critical factor. Among the most reliable technologies for these demanding environments, Pitot tubes and measuring blades stand out for their precision and durability.
Accurate flow measurement is essential for process regulation, waste reduction, and optimizing energy consumption within the plant. KIMO measurement solutions deliver both accuracy and reliability, even in extreme conditions—whether dealing with very high flow velocities or temperatures reaching up to 1000°C.

Accurate measurement
Accurate measurement
Airflow measurement is far more than a mere formality—it’s the cornerstone of system control. Insufficient airflow can expose operators to health hazards or disrupt processes, while excessive flow drives up energy costs and accelerates fan wear.
Accurate measurement is essential for real-time flow adjustments, verifying dust collection efficiency, and proving compliance with standards. KIMO differential pressure sensors provide the ideal solution, seamlessly connecting to pitot tubes or measuring wings to deliver precise flow calculations.
Si-C320
For clean rooms, regulated environments and industrial VAC applications where a perfect regulation/monitoring of the air parameters is needed, our Si-C320 transmitters provide reliable measurements and allow you to achieve compliance with the strictest regulations.
The Si-C320 housing is waterproof, rugged and resistant to vaporised hydrogen peroxide (VHP). It also features a colour touch screen for comprehensive viewing and advanced control of measurement parameters.
In addition, measurements can be recorded and downloaded via the Sauermann Control application/software.
Pitot tubes positioning
Pitot tubes positioning
The positioning of pitot tubes is crucial for accurate measurement. Readings should be taken in a straight section of the duct where airflow is stable. In practice, this means installing these components well away from bends, valves, or any obstacles that could create turbulence.
L-shaped pitot tubes, quickly mounted along the flow axis, are ideal for most duct systems. For demanding industrial environments—such as those with fumes, dust, or high temperatures—S-shaped tubes are recommended. In large ducts, using multiple measurement points ensures a reliable average.
DEBIMO
Airflow measuring blades are often used to provide air flow measurement in laboratories, air conditioning systems, air flow test rigs, fume extraction and exhaust systems, and vacuum cleaning systems.
Kimo’s DEBIMO measuring blades are a simple and cost effective method of providing permanent air flow measurement.
Multi-point airflow measuring blades
Multi-point airflow measuring blades
When airflow profiles are highly disturbed or ducts are particularly large, measuring blades offer an excellent alternative. Equipped with multiple pressure taps distributed along their length, they provide multipoint measurements that accurately represent the total flow rate.
Installed in either a cross or parallel configuration and available with ECTFE coating, measuring blades have become a benchmark in industrial extraction systems, complex ventilation networks, and pollutant exhaust chimneys. Combined with KIMO pressure sensors featuring an adjustable integration coefficient, they ensure reliable measurements even under the most demanding conditions.
